July 3, 2008 Everything is scheduled
We got the MRI and consultation set up for Monday. Makenna will get a general anesthesia for the procedure so she is totally still. I was thinking it would be just be some sedation but they are putting her to sleep totally which makes me nervous. We will see Dr Haere the Pediatric Orthopedic Oncologist immediately following the MRI for results. I am happy that they are getting everything scheduled so quickly but am also nervous that everything needs done ASAP. Hopefully just a precaution since she is so young.

Back to doctor Provance's office to have her cast removed. I am wondering how she will act without it. She has not minded it at all and I think has actually enjoyed knocking it into anything and anyone!!
They took the cast off. It was funny to see her looking at her foot. She didn't move it right away but started rolling her ankle around. Got the repeat xray done. It took forever for the doctor to come in and I had a bad feeling. He finally came in and explained that the fracture healed nicely BUT he noticed a mass of some sort on the upper part of her tibia. It appears to be into the soft tissue of her leg. He had the Orthopedic surgeon that specializes in Oncology take a look at it and they ordered an MRI and labwork and we are to see the specialist following the MRI. Dr Provance said that "it could just be a cyst." We are trying to stay positive that this is something that can be easily fixed/treated.

Today we had our visit with Dr Provance at Childrens Hospital. He said that her fracture will likely heal without problems and she will be in her cast for 3 weeks. Kamrynn requested a hot pink cast so thats what she got. We will return in 3 weeks for cast removal and to re-xray the leg. Hopefully she will be healed and back to normal!
